SANDPOINT — Junior Kingston Corbett had 14 points and six rebounds as the host Bulldogs fell 61-39 in their home opener against the Trojans on Wednesday.
Sandpoint had trouble breaking the Trojans' constant full court press as Post Falls led 11-2 early and 21-10 with roughly six minutes to go in the second. Senior Wil Leisy, who had eight points, re-energized the Bulldogs with a slam dunk and couple of made free throws to cut the lead to seven, but Post Falls closed the quarter on 8-2 run and held a 13-point advantage heading into the break.
Senior Emerik Jones added eight points, junior Logan Roos four points, five rebounds, and three assists for the Bulldogs, which scored just seven points in the third quarter.
Junior Jaxon Lynse scored a game-high 16 points for Post Falls, which hit a barrage of 3-pointers in the fourth to seal the deal.
Sandpoint (0-4) will look to grab their first win of the season on Friday at home against Priest River.
