Geneva Meserve, 95

Elinor Geneva Meserve, 95, passed away, in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Sandpoint United Methodist Church. The Rev. Catherine Lyle will be officiating. Reception to follow in the church. Inurnment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Geneva was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Marmarth, N.D., the daughter of Jacob and Irma Knobf. The family moved to the Sandpoint area when she was 8 years old, and she attended the Selle Grade School. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1948. On April 16, 1949, she married Stanford Meserve, in Sandpoint; a marriage that lasted for 64 years when Stan passed away in 2013. Geneva and Stan operated a Grade A Dairy farm, in the Selle area, for many years. 

She loved to go flying, with Stan, around the country. She was a member of the Rainbow Chasers RV Club and enjoyed camping out with their friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Selle Extension Club and the Chatterbees Young Mothers Club. 

She is survived by her two children Guy (and Ann) Meserve, in Selle, and Becky (and Shawn) Colpaert, in Moscow, Idaho. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Amanda (and Ryan) Souza, and Corey (and Jeffrey) Eifert; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
