Janet Delores Everhart, 95
Janet Delores (Larson) Everhart, a longtime resident of Sandpoint, Idaho, died peacefully in her home Dec. 19, 2024, in the comforting presence of her family.
Janet was born to George (“Jiggs”) and Marian (Young) Larson on April 11, 1929, in Oakland, Neb.
Following her graduation from Oakland High School in 1947, Janet enrolled and later graduated from Immanuel School of Nursing in Omaha, Neb., in 1952. She retired in 1995, after a long and satisfying 43-year career as a nurse.
Janet married James Everhart in Omaha, Neb., in 1952 and together they raised three sons and one daughter. They moved from Omaha to Gretna, Neb., in 1959 and later, in 1997, relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho, to be near their grown sons and daughter.
Though Janet was a busy loving mother raising a family of four and working as a nurse, she also found time to pursue her interests in genealogy, crocheting, needlework and later in life, water aerobics.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Don Larson, and her sister, Marilyn Holmquist, her son, Timothy, and her son-in-law, Ken Russell.
She is survived by three children: Shelly Russell, Charles (Wendy) Everhart of Sandpoint, Idaho and Bill (Charlotte) Everhart of Hope, Idaho. Janet also has six grandsons, three great-grandchildren and various relatives in the Oakland, Nebraska, area.
A service for Janet will be held at Coffelt’s Funeral Home, 109 N. Division, on Friday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. A reception at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 601 S. Lincoln, will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and or Altar Society as well as Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clark Fork.
