Weight limits set to start

| February 1, 2024 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — With recent warmer temperatures, road limits are making an early appearance in the county.

As a result, no early morning hauling is allowed on any Bonner County maintained road that is posted with weight limits.

District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — All roads were posted with weight limits.

District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — All roads are posted with green flags Friday, indicating weight limits are imminent. Roads may be posted as red, indicating weight limits are in effect, by the end of the week.

In the district, Dufort Road from Merritt's Mill to Spirit Lake Cutoff Road has already been posted with weight limits. As a reminder, a red flag or no flag on the sign indicates weight limits are in effect.

District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — All roads were posted with green flags on Wednesday, indicating weight limits are imminent. All roads are expected to be posted with weight limits by today morning.

Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
