Festival seeking volunteers, interns

Want to get involved with the Festival at Sandpoint this summer? Here's your chance.

The Festival at Sandpoint is seeking summer interns, volunteers, and production crew for its 2024 summer concert series.

The Festival offers seasonal, paid internships offering hands-on experience in the music industry, a behind-the-scenes look at music festival operations, and resume-building professional skills, Festival officials said.

“Our internship program stands as a gateway for aspiring individuals to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of event management and the music industry,” Paul Gunter, Festival education manager, said. “Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and tailored roles aligned with interns' passions, we cultivate a rewarding environment that not only fosters professional growth but also contributes to the vibrant energy of our Festival community."

Internship possibilities include a variety of skills and interests, including marketing, sales and merchandising, volunteer management, hospitality, and others.

The paid summer internship will run from June 12 through Aug. 9. Applications are due April 15, but interviews will begin the first week of February.

The Festival at Sandpoint is also seeking volunteers from July 19 through Aug. 7 for the 2024 summer concert series.

“We are incredibly grateful to have such a supportive community that volunteers their time and effort year after year,” Executive Director Ali Baranski said. “An annual event as large as the Festival at Sandpoint Summer Series would not be possible without the outstanding team of over 600 volunteers who donate more than 10,000 hours each year.”

Volunteer departments include admissions, box office, green team, merchandise, production, and more. Becoming a volunteer is a great way to be part of the excitement of the Festival while also giving back to a nonprofit and the community.

A third option for getting involved is an internship on the Festival's paid production crew. The internships run from July 19 to Aug. 7.

Production crew members help set up the venue, assist with operations, and return War Memorial Field to pre-Festival conditions after the event wraps up.
