Feb. 4, 1974 — PINE WOOD DERBY WINNERS
James Reuterdahl was name first place winner in the Pine Wood Derby held by Cub Scout Pack 110 at Farmin School. Scott Madsen was second place winner and Mike Reno was third. Runners-up were Rod Kenworthy, Gary Neu and Jon Pearlstein. In the runoff race between Pack 110 and 120, Mica Miller of Pack 120 was the winner. Other categories were: Best all around — Pat Reno; Best design — Joe Petzak, Paul Critchlow and Gary Neu; Best looking — Tod Wilmes, James Gagin and Donnie Kotschevar; Best paint job — Steven Lindley, David Parker, Scott Madsen, and Bill Lanto; Brightest car — Brandon Moon; Best workmanship — David Currie, Tom Evans, Jon Pearlstein, Steven Watt, Shawn Lies and Darren Chapin; Most original — Dean Currie, Rod Kenworthy, Mark Scott, and James Webb; Best color — Jerry Crosswhite, Casey Fournier, and Tim Hansen; Most unique - Mike Smith, Mike Reno, Terry Judd, and Sammy Paris.

KATHLEEN PUCKETT ENGAGEMENT TOLD
The engagement of Kathleen Puckett to Terry Oliver has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brackebusch of Samuels. The bride-elect’s father was the late Thomas R. Puckett. Miss Puckett is a senior at Sandpoint High School. Mr. Oliver, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Ed) Oliver of Kootenai, is a 1973 graduate of the University of Idaho. He is employed by Dr. Forrest Bird of The Bird Corporation. A summer wedding is planned.

BIRTHDAY IS CELEBRATED
Gary Maxwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Maxwell, entertained friends Saturday afternoon in honor of his tenth birthday. The group went to the matinee and then to his home for birthday cake and refreshments. Guests included Donna Diehl, Peggy Jo Anderson, Rush Balison, Roger Hayden, Ross Russell, Philip Dreisbach and Dick and Arnie Yager.

SURPRISE PARTY
A group of friends were invited to drop in Saturday evening to surprise Shirley Decker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Decker, to honor her 14th birthday. Refreshments were served and the evening spent playing games and dancing. Guests were Karen Hayden, Charlene Jahnke, Shirley Anderson, Virginia Sulzle, Carol McNew, Marjorie Whipple, Sally and Fritz Holz, Bob Maxwell, Bud Van Stone, Bill Friedstrom and Paul Jeppesen.
