Registration for NIC’s free Safety Fest now open
North Idaho College will offer free safety training at the 16th annual Safety Fest of the Great Northwest Feb. 21-23 at the NIC Workforce Training Center in Post Falls.
Registration is now open for this three-day event, which is an opportunity for front-line workers, safety professionals, and the general public to receive free training from the area’s best safety instructors.
“Classes fill up fast, but are open to anyone interested in safety-related training,” said Colleen Hoffman, event organizer and Customized Training manager at the NIC Workforce Training Center. “All classes are free. Just register at www.nic.edu/safetyfest or call us at the NIC Workforce Training Center.”
Safety Fest offers more than 80 classes to choose from including multiple OSHA classes (including OSHA 10), first aid and CPR, mine safety, active shooter, K9 demonstration, HAZWOPER refresher, work zone flagging, how to stop bleeding, ladder and work platform safety, forklift and boom/scissor lift operator, and remote worker safety-backcountry survival, among many others.
“This event is a great opportunity for industry professionals to network while learning the most-up-to-date best practices for safety,” Hoffman said. “We provide classes every year based on the needs of the community and our instructors volunteer their time to teach these classes. There is tremendous support from our community and partner organizations. We are all working toward the same goal: If it can save one life, it’s more than worth it.”
Organizers are always looking for companies to lend their support to the event. More information about how to be a part of Safety Fest 2024, as well as registration and general information, is available at nic.edu/safetyfest or call 208-769-3333.
