Sandpoint Future 7th Grade Girls

KALISPELL — The Sandpoint Future seventh grade girls basketball team was named champions of the Flathead Hoopfest Tournament held at Glacier High Feb. 3-4. 

The girls went 4-0 on the weekend, defeating the Krazy 8’s 31-15; the Valkyries 22-21; the Valkyries again 21-17; and then the Glacier Sparks 25-22 in the championship match. All of the aforementioned teams are from Bigfork, Kalispell, and the greater Flathead Valley.

Sandpoint Future 5th Grade Boys

KALISPELL — The Sandpoint Future fourth grade boys basketball team also competed at the Flathead Hoopfest Tournament, taking home third place.

The boys went 3-1 on the weekend, defeating the Bigfork ‘Zerkers 27-9; the Bigfork Vikings 30-21; and then the Eureka Lions 35-27 in the third-fourth place match.

TROY, Mont. — Grace Thomson led the Wampus Cats with three points, 10 rebounds, and four steals in a win over Troy on Saturday at Troy High.

CLARK FORK — Jason Mayorga posted another double-double for the Wampus Cats with 10 points and 18 rebounds in a loss to Lakeside at Clark Fork High on Monday.
