| February 11, 2024 1:00 AM

The Community Assistance League will start accepting applications for grant funds March 1.

Nonprofit organizations in Bonner County are encouraged to apply for funding to cover the expenses of ongoing or special projects that have a positive impact on County residents.

Applications will be available online at www.CALSandpoint.org, Bizarre Bazaar, and libraries in Priest River, Clark Fork, Oldtown, and Sandpoint. They will be accepted from March 1 to March 30. All applications must be either postmarked no later than March 31 or received at Bizarre Bazaar no later than 3 p.m. March 30. (The store is closed Sunday, March 31.)

CAL grants are awarded to a wide range of nonprofit organizations that offer programs that are open to the entire community. Political, sectarian, or religious programs are not eligible to receive a grant from the Community Assistance League.

CAL is a nearly 50-year-old organization dedicated to improving the lives of Bonner County residents through philanthropy. Although personal monetary donations are always welcome, the bulk of the monies goes back to the community come from proceeds of the group's shop, Bizarre Bazaar. CAL has gifted more than $2 million in grants and scholarships to date.
