LPOSD board to meet today

PONDERAY — The Lake Pend Oreille School Board will hold its regular meeting today.

Among the items on the agenda are an update on a social studies curriculum, and discussion of a new English learners program policy. 

The board will also observe presentations from Kootenai Elementary students, Sandpoint Middle School students, chief financial officer Brian Wallace, director of elementary education Andra Murray, director of secondary education Casey McLaughlin, and Superintendent Dr. Becky Meyer. 

The board will also be asked to approve an off-site prom location for Sandpoint High School at the Heartwood Center. 

Each closure of the school that occurred during the month of January is also expected to be certified at this meeting. 

Other action items include second readings of revisions to the district’s special education policy and the addition of a new therapy dog policy. 

The meeting will take place today at 5 p.m. at the LPOSD District Office, 901 Triangle Drive, Ponderay.
