SPIRIT LAKE — Junior Carter Cook scored 12 of his career-high 23 points in the third quarter as the Spartans fell to the host Tigers at the buzzer Tuesday night.

It was senior Daniel Dorman who hit a short baseline jumper to lift Timberlake to victory.

“We lost to Lakeland last year on a buzzer-beater, and to Lakeside at the buzzer, and to Priest River this year, so it was nice to finally win one at the buzzer,” Timberlake coach Mike LaFountaine said. “Thank you to a senior that has worked hard for us.”

Lucas Mathews added nine points, Brock Kreager eight for Priest River.

Senior Jacob Yetter scored 11 of his game-high 25 points in the first quarter to pace Timberlake.

Priest River (5-13) will travel to Grangeville for the 2A District 1-2 play-in game set to be held Monday, Feb. 19.
