| February 23, 2024 1:00 AM

Jacqueline Mae Palaniuk, 34, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.

Jacqueline Mae Palaniuk was born June 15, 1989, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Mark and Tammy Palaniuk. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2007 and attended Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Ore. on a volleyball scholarship. In 2008 she decided to take a break from studies and traveled abroad with a friend for the summer. After visiting 15 European countries she returned home and received her associate’s degree from North Idaho College.

Jacque Mae was an adventurous gypsy. After living in Oregon for many years she moved to the Big Island of Hawaii. There she received her massage license and yoga teacher certification. She remained there for five years hiking, camping, learning to scuba dive, and enjoying the gifts, magic and healing energy of the islands. She even skydived for her 30th birthday to see the island from the sky. She owned and created Mae Massage and spent many hours working in her Hawaiian offices — client lanais overlooking the ocean. She would often post pictures of her beautiful “office for the day.”

In July 2023, Jacqueline returned home to the area to be closer to family. She opened Mae Massage in Coeur d'Alene. She spent the last eight months reconnecting with family, long-time friends, and her tribe. She loved the time she spent being the aunty she always wanted to be to her niece and nephew.

Jacqueline Mae Palaniuk is survived by her parents, Mark and Tammy; her loving brother, Jacob; her sister-in-love, Ana; her niece and nephew, Genevieve Louise — “Genny Jude” — and Giovani Joseph as well as multiple cousins, aunts, and uncles.

She was the light and love of so many, she touched lives and left a part of her wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, tribe, and Ohana.

Family and friends are invited to sign Jacqueline’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
