Rusty Lee, Eastern Washington University Track & Field

Sandpoint’s Rusty Lee ran a new personal best time of 8.39 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2024 Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships held Feb. 22-24 at The Podium in Spokane. Although Lee’s time was just short of qualifying for the finals, it was a seven-hundredths of a second improvement from his previous personal best (8.46) set back in mid-January. Lee’s time this past weekend is now tied for seventh-best in Eastern Washington University history.

After the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Eagles will begin their outdoor season March 16 at the Sam Adams Classic hosted by Whitworth University.

Hannah Davidson, Utah State University Track & Field

Sandpoint’s Hannah Davidson placed sixth in the mile (4:57.37) and was part of the Aggies’ distance medley relay (11:46.95) that took fourth at the 2024 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships held Feb. 22-24 at the Albuquerque Convention Center (New Mexico University).

Utah State’s DMR, which consisted of Davidson, Adi Nielson, Mattie Geddes (Twin Falls High graduate) and Shelby Jensen combined for the fourth-best time in Aggie history. Davidson’s finishes in both the DMR and mile accounted for eight of Utah State’s 27 total points.

After the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Aggies will open their outdoor season March 16 at the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta hosted by Arizona University.
