Cribbage tournaments starting this month

SANDPOINT — Oh, the weather outside is frightful … and what better way to spend a winter without snow than competing in a cribbage tournament? 

The Sandpoint Eagles are hosting monthly cribbage tournaments for Bonner County residents who want to show off their skills.

This double-elimination tournament allows players leeway should they lose a game, giving each player two chances to stay in the running.

The year’s first tournament will be Jan. 20 at noon in the Eagles building, and interested parties are encouraged to sign up early. The fee to sign up before Jan. 19 is $10. Walk-in players will be accepted as spots allow, but day-of players will be charged $15.

Tournaments have also been announced for February and March to give players ample time to brush up on their skills for future events. Specific dates will be announced soon.
