Kenneth Otto Lutz, 78

Kenneth O. Lutz 88 of Elmira, Idaho, went to his beloved Jesus on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023.

He was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to William and Eta Lutz. Leaving home on his 17th birthday, he entered the United States Marine Corps. There he met and married Anita Duncan and had three children. They later divorced.

During the Vietnam War, he received temporary captain status in avionics. While stationed in Japan, he met Barbara Davis, a DOD school teacher, and the true love story of Barbie and Ken began. They were married in 1969 in California. In 1970, they moved to Yuma, Ariz. It was there God brought Ken to humbly surrender to His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Together they continued raising their children. After 20 years in the USMC, he transferred to the reserves for the next 10 years. He retired in 1982 as a master gunnery sergeant.

In Yuma, he owned and operated B&K TV and Appliance Service. His nephew Ron came and helped run the appliance side of the business. In 1981 "B&K" purchased property in Elmira, Idaho, north of Sandpoint and moved there permanently in 1987.

Over the next 36 years, they enjoyed North Idaho living! His home and shop were always open and people were always welcome. Whenever there was a need, Ken was there if in any way he could help. Over 20 years, he served in the Northside Fire Department. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League, and he was a member of the Gideons always ready to share the love of Jesus with anyone.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Kathy Lutz of Sandpoint, Robert (Lynda) Lutz of Yuma, and Chrissy (Jeff) Dunn of Sandpoint; grandchildren, Michelle Hollingshead, Jeremy (Aubry) Dunn, Valerie (Jason) Turnbull, Joshua (Trish) Dunn, Josiah (Ashley) Dunn, Jon (Rachel) Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Joel (Moriah) Dunn, Sarah Opland, Rachel (Bennie) Schlabach, and Aimee Dunn; and 20 great-grands.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, and one great-granddaughter, Esme Dunn.

His goal was to love and serve God and love and serve others. To all he would say to turn from your ways, receive forgiveness for your sins given through the blood of Jesus, believe His resurrection power to transform your life by His word and His Spirit. Love God. Trust Him. Obey Him and love each other!

A celebration of life will be held Jan. 13, 2024, at 11 a.m at Regeneration Calvary Chapel, McGhee Road, Sandpoint. Please let us know if you will be coming at regencc.com/ken
