Randall L. 'Randy' Johnson, 74
Maj. Randall L. “Randy” Johnson, United States Marine Corps (Ret.), 74, of Elk River, Idaho, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka, Fla., following a brief illness.
Randy was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, and had recently moved to Palatka from Elk River to be with his family during his final days. He was a 1967 graduate of the Beatty High School in Beatty, Nev. He received a master’s degree in human resource management. In 1993, he retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of major after 20 years of service. He later worked as an electrician for Strom Electric Co. in Troy, Idaho.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Elk River Community Church where he had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anita and Harry Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa K. Johnson; three daughters and sons-in-laws, Kelly Speaks (Stephen), Virginia Brantley (Jeff), and Alexis Johnson; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard Johnson (Diane); a sister and brother-in-law, Michele Marcom (Larry); 13 grandchildren, Joshua Speaks (Megan), Jacob Speaks, James Speaks, Riley Speaks, Teaghan Speaks, Darby Speaks, Jonah Speaks, Tru Schuit, Annie Brantley, Isaac Brantley, Savannah Brantley, Jarrett Brantley, and Nathan Brantley; one great-grandchild, Giavanna Faith Speaks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that Randy loved very much.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Sandpoint with interment in the Pack River Cemetery in Sandpoint.
