PONDERAY — The Lake Pend Oreille School District will hold its school board’s annual meeting today.

As part of the meeting, the board will elect a chair and vice chair, as well as appoint a treasurer and clerk.

Dr. Becky Meyer, Brian Wallace, and Kelly Fisher are also expected to be appointed as authorized agents of the school district.

The board will consider authorizing a bid for an audit of financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, with the option of auditing the district’s financial statements for the four subsequent fiscal years, officials said in an agenda packet.

Trustees will also consider a first reading of revisions to a special education policy. They will also consider adding a policy concerning the use of therapy dogs across the district.

Policy items seeing their second reading include revisions to the district’s hiring process and education of homeless children policies, as well as revisions to title advancement requirements included in a middle-level credit system policy.

The meeting will take place tonight at 5 p.m. at the LPOSD district office, 901 Triangle Drive.
