SANDPOINT — Bonner County commissioners voted to reappoint all but one member of the Bonner County Snowmobile East Advisory Board at their Tuesday meeting.

Last month, Bonner County operations manager Jessi Reinbold came before the board for the reappointment of the West Advisory Board, which is located in Priest River. The East Advisory Board is located in Sandpoint.

This board, Reinbold said, is very unique. The board serves in a volunteer capacity to establish and maintain parking and unloading areas on public and private property. Each board member must be an active snowmobiler and usually represents a snowmobile club, organization or merchant engaged in the sale or rental of snowmobiles, or is a member of the general public actively engaged in the sport of snowmobiling.

All the current board members on the east board, except one, were seeking reappointment to the board.

“Matt Linscott has resigned from the board,” Reinbold said.

Coincidentally, she said, the county also received one letter of interest for a position on the board — from Tim Farmin.

“One letter, one opening — it seems like the math works,” Commissioner Luke Omodt said.

The commissioners unanimously approved the reappointment of the existing board members as well as the appointment of Farmin.
