COLLEGE NOTEBOOK: Davidson wins 800 at Weber State Invitational

Sandpoint’s Hannah Davidson won the 800-meter run (2:17.29) and was part of Utah State’s Distance Medley Relay which placed second (12:13.37) at the Weber State Invitational held at Swenson Gym Jan. 19-20. Utah State’s women’s team won the invitational, which consisted of three other teams (Utah Valley, Idaho State, and Weber State), with 131.5 points. Part of Utah State’s team will compete at the New Mexico Invitational Jan. 26-27 while others will compete at the Washington Invite Jan. 26-27.
Teagun Holycross, Montana University Track & Field
Priest River’s Teagun Holycross placed sixth out of 33 runners in the 60-meter dash (6.89) and fifth out of 32 runners in the 200-meter dash (21.87) amongst a stacked field at the Lauren McCluskey Invitational held at the University of Idaho Jan. 19-20. Montana is back in action Friday, Jan. 26, when the team heads to Montana State University for the Bobcat Challenge.
CORRECTION: In the previous edition of the College Notebook, it was reported Holycross’s 60-meter dash time was 8.67 seconds at the 2024 Spokane Indoor Challenge. His time was actually 6.87 seconds, only .02 from his all-time best.
Connor Alexander, Lewis-Clark State College Track & Field
Bonner Ferry’s Connor Alexander ran a new personal best 3000-meter time of 9:03.07 at the Lauren McCluskey Invitational. His time was good enough for 21st out of 39 runners, second out of the Warriors’ six runners. Lewis-Clark State College will head to the Inland Northwest Invitational which will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at The Podium in Spokane.
Sara Hathaway, Lewis-Clark State College Track & Field
Clark Fork’s Sara Hathaway placed ninth out of 18 runners in the 60-meter hurdles at the Lauren McCluskey Invitational. Hathaway’s time of 9.17 seconds is her third best time ever and nears her personal best time of 9.05 seconds.
