Williams' behavior is intended to disrupt, divide
Asia Williams is an outlier. Simply put, her behavior as one of our county commissioners is intended to disrupt, devastate and divide. The International City/County Management Association describes the stereotypical outlier as often displaying behaviors such as:
• Treats every staff presentation as an inquisition.
• Routinely discloses confidential information to the media.
• Spends all of his or her time on minutia and misses the big picture completely.
• Is never prepared for a meeting and regularly asks questions that were answered in the council or board packet.
• Is never willing to bring closure and always wants more information before • Refuses to abide by the meeting rules of order.
• Is always trying to make staff and the chief administrator and fellow elected officials look bad.
If you've ever attended a BOCC meeting in person or online, you've witnessed this behavior disguised as indignation and outrage that she's not allowed to speak at will and is held to rules of order. Agenda items of minutia are repeatedly submitted and turmoil is the result among our electeds, county staff and community members. Meanwhile, nothing is accomplished for constituents.
This is the goal of an outlier. Don't be fooled by the deflection, projection and redirection. Watch closely for her fellow outliers running in our upcoming elections and vote to keep additional chaos out of our local government.
