YOUTH WRESTLING: Sandpoint Legacy Wrestling posts multiple top finishes at Helltown Throwdown

HELENA, Mont. — The Sandpoint Legacy Wrestling Club posted multiple top finishes at the Helltown Throwdown held Jan. 19-21 at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds. Sandpoint competed in both the individual tournament and duals tournament over the weekend.

In the individual tournament, Sandpoint Legacy finished fifth out of a total of 71 teams. For the girls, Boheme Parr-Coffin (56) took first place and Clarissa Birch (59) took third in the U10 Intermediate division. In the Girls Middle School division, Summer Birch (102) took home an individual championship while Avery Inge (125-129) clinched a second place finish.

For the boys, Dalton Regehr (82) and Tommy Holman (117) finished second and fourth, respectively, in the 12U Novice Division. Braxley Hatfield (49) was third and Domink Watson (71) placed sixth after four pins in the U10 Intermediate division.

In the Boys Middle School division, Miro Parr-Coffin (77) and John Holman (149) took home individual titles. Parr-Coffin and Holman both went 4-0 en route to their gold medals. Zak Wood (110) and Daniel Holman (165) finished third, taking home bronze medals. Tyler Wood (87) and Maxx Watson (92) notched fourth place finishes while Conner Brown (114) rounded out the top finishers with a fifth place finish.

Overall, in the medium-sized team category, Sandpoint placed second.

In the duals tournament, which was held Sunday, Sandpoint Legacy went 2-1 in Pool A, defeating Team Sidney, 81-6 and Corvallis Wrestling, 69-17, which was good enough to advance to the Gold Championship Bracket. In the championship, Sandpoint Legacy took down Team Brodie, 61-22; Team Champs Black, 60-27; and then Team Brodie again to win the third-fourth place match, 56-27.
