Tomco drops 21 to help Sandpoint to 18th win

Sandpoint 47, Moscow 40

MOSCOW – Sandpoint’s Jordyn Tomco scored 20-plus points for the third time this season to lead the Bulldogs to victory in a 4A IEL match against Moscow on Tuesday.

“It was a grinder at the Bear Den,” head coach Will Love said. “We were able to put together a double-digit lead in the third quarter and that was enough to hold on. We played some really good defense, and their defense caused some issues for us as well. I’m super proud of them for finishing 4-0 in league (among the 4A IEL) and 18-3 overall – that’s quite an accomplishment. We’ll celebrate for the next couple of days, but then we have to get ready for districts next week which is going to be tough.”

Brecken Mire added 11 points and five rebounds, Karlie Banks 6 points and seven rebounds for Sandpoint. Demi Driggs chipped in with four points and five rebounds.

Sandpoint (18-3, 7-1) will play the winner of the District 4A IEL play-in game between Lakeland/Moscow on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
