MGs offer “Gardening 101” class

The WSU Master Gardeners are offering a class on gardening basics, titled on “Gardening 101,” on Thursday, Feb. 8.

The class, which will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m., will be taught by a Master Gardener panel. 

More and more people are discovering the joys of gardening. This class will offer techniques on growing vegetables from either seed or plants, taking into consideration whether you have lots of sun or shade, and what kind of soil you have. Topics will include advice from experienced gardeners, requirements for growing the major plant families and popular crops, plus some of our out-of-the-ordinary favorite garden tools.  

The class will take place at the Create Arts Center, 900 Fourth St., Newport. The class fee is $5, ($3 for Master Gardeners), and can be paid by check, money order, cash or through PayPal.
