NHHS Podiatry Services accepting patients
Recently Dr. Jonathan Fisher joined the dedicated team of surgical providers at Newport Health Center. Dr. Fisher, a board-certified podiatrist, is pleased to serve the community, providing another layer of access to specialized medical care.
Dr. Fisher attended medical school at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his foot and ankle surgical residency at Detroit Medical Center, as well as general pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Children’s Hospital Detroit. Dr. Fisher completed fellowships: pediatric and adult limb salvage; pediatric orthopedics (reconstruction, trauma, congenital deformity); and foot and ankle reconstruction and sports medicine.
In addition to his practice with Newport Hospital & Health Services, Dr. Fisher is also a surgical partner at North Idaho Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Ponderay. He hopes to expand services at Newport Hospital relating to lower extremity care involving sports medicine, trauma, reconstruction, and general podiatric care.
Dr. Fisher explains it is “everything from bunions to complex trauma and reconstruction.” Dr. Fisher grew up in the Midwest and currently lives in the Sandpoint area.
He loves spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying skiing, backpacking, hunting, and fishing. He has raced on the U.S. and International Pro Cycling circuits. His love of the outdoors fuels his enthusiasm in getting his patients back to the things they love.
Patients who need to make an appointment should contact Newport Health Center.
