12U: Sandpoint uses big fourth, fifth innings to defeat St. Maries

HAYDEN — Jake Peak was 2-for-2 with two singles and three RBIs and Sandpoint scored 10 runs between the fourth and fifth innings to take home an 11-1 win over St. Maries in their Idaho District 1 Little League tournament-opener held Friday at Croffoot Park in Hayden.

In the bottom of the first, Mac Peters got the scoring going for Sandpoint with an RBI single to center field. For the first three innings, Kaleb Bogadi held things down on the bump, striking out seven batters and giving up just one hit. Sandpoint eventually got their bats going again in the fourth as Peak capped off a three-run rally with a two-run single to left. In the fifth, Sandpoint finished the job, scoring seven runs — Cruz Oliver, Westin Bostock, and Peak all had RBI singles during the rally.
