POST FALLS — Cole Sanroman was a perfect 3-for-3 with three singles, Dallen Williams pitched three scoreless innings in relief, and the 19U North Idaho Lakers took down the Prairie Cardinals 4-3 on Tuesday at Brett James Memorial Field in Post Falls.

Gavin Day hit an RBI single to right field to put the Lakers on the board in the top of the first inning. In the third, Bryce Berger hit a two-run single and Prairie put up three runs to take a 3-1 lead.

Between the fourth and fifth innings, North Idaho took control. Cole Sanroman scored on a wild pitch, Finn Mellander bunted up the first base line for an RBI single, and Jacob Hansen reached on an error, which scored a run, to give North Idaho a 4-3 lead ... a lead they would not lose.

Parker Reichart got the win on the bump for the Lakers, throwing four innings and giving up five hits, one walk and three earned runs while striking out two batters. Williams, in his three innings in relief, gave up just two hits and struck out three batters while securing the save.

In addition to Cole Sanroman’s big day, Mellander was 2-for-4 with two singles and an RBI. Soren Caprio had the only extra-base hit of the game — a double to start off the fifth inning.

North Idaho (12-11) will host the Orofino Merchants for a doubleheader Friday.
