LPOSD to examine facility plan, library materials tonight
The Lake Pend Oreille School District Board of Trustees is meeting tonight to discuss its response to new regulations and to put forth a 10-year plan.
The board will review its policy on library materials in its first meeting since the enactment of Idaho House Bill 710, which restricts minors’ access to content containing a description or depiction of sexual behavior.
Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Becky Meyer and facilities director Matt Diel will introduce a draft of a 10-year master facility plan that will serve as a roadmap for maintaining, updating, and replacing infrastructure.
The board has recently invested time and attention to evaluate the condition of the district’s facilities. In 2023, the district assembled the Long Range Facility Planning Committee — a coalition of over 40 parents, staff, and community members— to assist with the process.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at 5 p.m. at the district office, 365 N Triangle Drive, Ponderay.
