Full caption: Local standout Campbell Wyman was recently offered a spot on the USA Down Syndrome Swimming National Team. Campbell, a part of the 2019 SHS boys 200 yard medley relay that qualified for the state championship, also swims for the Sandpoint Sharks Swim Club and the local Special Olympics team. More notably, he is a two-time Long Bridge Swim finisher, qualified to compete in six different events at the 11th Down Syndrome World Swimming & Artistic Championships which were held this past March at Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey (swimmers from the USA were not able to attend the meet due to the uncertainty of safety for travel), and won the 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter breaststroke, and 100-meter breaststroke at the 2019 Idaho Special Olympics. He is set to travel to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the USADSS & AWL National Championships, which will be held Nov. 7-10 at the Rosen Aquatic Center. He is the first USADSS swimmer to ever represent Idaho at this level. Pictured is Campbell with a plethora of swimming medals he has won over the years.
