Lasean was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on May 14, 1932, to James and Mary Fox Boothe. She was the second of four daughters. She grew up in the Sagle area attending Sagle School for first to eighth grade. Lasean attended Sandpoint High School on Euclid Avenue, graduating in 1950. Lasean attended her first year of college at NINE in Lewiston Idaho. After Governor Lieutenant Jordan closed the school, Lasean transferred to EWSC Cheney, Wash., graduating in 1954. Due to a shortage of teachers in the area, she was asked to teach at Old Hope School, 1952 through 1953. Lasean taught for 35 years in Bonner County. She taught at Hope, Southside, Sagel, and Farmin Stidwell. She spent the summer of 1952 and 1953 in Cheney so she could graduate with her class.

Lasean married Gene Driggs on June 2, 1958. They were married for 51 years and had four children. Lasean took five years off to be home with the little ones.

She served as president of the Bonner County Education Association and was a delegate to the state convention for three years. In later years, she served as building representative and attended many school board meetings held at different schools. Lasean was a member of the teacher’s honorary society, Lamba chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa for 48 years. As a member of the sorority, she held every two-year term of the eight offices in the sorority.

Her husband was very active in the Knights of Columbus, she accompanied him to many state conventions. Lasean was also very active in the Catholic Church, serving in many capacities. She also grew flowers for the church altar, mostly peonies, snowballs, dahlias, and gladiolus. She served as a member of the altar society and prepared food for funerals and other sponsored functions. Lasean also served the church by taking communion to the sick and the homebound in homes and care facilities.

Lasean and her husband enjoyed their travels to Venezuela, Rome, and Medjugorje. They see them as great accomplishments. She loved the beauty of North Idaho and never thought of leaving. Lasean enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening; however, recently the influx of deer elk and turkeys pretty much put an end to her gardening. Lesson enjoyed knitting, tatting, embroidering, quilting, crocheting, canning produce, cooking, baking, playing sudoku, and watching the Seattle Mariners and the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Lasean loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sisters, and her church family. Lasean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene of 51 years, oldest sister Delores (at 8 months) and her two younger sisters Francis Reed and Elara Turnbull. She is survived by Mary Michael of Cheney, Wash.; Donna Short of Bonners Ferry; Charles (Naomi) of Sagle; Patrick (Nori) of Santa Monica, Calif.; 16 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins
