‘Gala for Goals’ to raise funds tomorrow
"Gala for Goals" will feature food and entertainment and aims to raise money for new soccer goals at the Field of Dreams sports complex.
DOVER — Sandpoint Soccer Association is supporting youth sports with a night of fun, food, and fundraising.
Wednesday, July 24, at 6 p.m., the organization is hosting “Gala for Goals,” an event at the Homestead Barn featuring gourmet food, live performances, and a silent auction.
The gala aims to raise funds for new soccer goals for kids of all ages to be installed at the Field of Dreams, a new Ponderay sports complex set to officially open Aug. 29.
Additionally, Sandpoint Soccer Association hopes to bolster its scholarship fund. “This will keep our programs affordable and available for all those ages 4-18 who want to play the beautiful game of soccer!” the organization said.
The event will start with appetizers, refreshments from Barrel 33 Sandpoint, and a live performance from local act RCA Music. Dinner will be provided by Red Barn Bakery and a silent auction will include international vacations.
North Idaho Astronomy Club will offer an astrophotography lesson and Julie Istvan, a local aerialist, will perform a special act.
The adult-only evening will be '80s-themed, and attendees are encouraged to “bring on the neon and have some fun!”
