'Late Night' fun on tap at POPA

Forget turning on your television, this "late night" variety show brings all the fun of a big-name talk show — think Johnny Carson or David Letterman — to the Pend Oreille Playhouse this weekend.

Mixed with skits similar to those you would see on "Saturday Night Live" and "MadTV" and improv games like those found on "Whose Line is it Anyway?" the two-night event promises to be a delightful variety show hosted by the Pend Oreille Players Association in Newport.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 26-27.

The variety show promises an eclectic mix of entertainment, improv skits, stand-up comedy, musical performances, and some surprise acts.

The general admission tickets are $7.

The event features two performances, one Friday, July 26, and the second Saturday, July 27. Late Night at the Playhouse will take place at the Pend Oreille Playhouse, 236 S. Union Ave., Newport.
