Big Toys Condos opens for business
SANDPOINT — Big toys? Need a spot to keep them safe? Look no further than Big Toys Condos, located near the fairgrounds.
Instead of renting storage spaces, co-owners Craig Cozad, Derick Driggs and Todd Kaufman tapped into the emerging trend of creating a storage community.
The new business, which offers storage condos for sale, was welcomed by the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce with a grand opening celebration July 11. Cozad, Driggs, Kaufman and their staff, business partners, and family joined chamber staff and board members for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The owners’ original intent for the property was to build apartments, but due to some complexities caused by its proximity to the Sandpoint Airport, their plans had to change. So, they pivoted and decided to pursue an emerging trend of creating a storage community.
Big Toy Condos has 101 storage condos for sale, with 30% of the units already purchased. The condos can be customized as the owner prefers, officials said. The units are insulated, and have electricity, lighting, and heat. The property has secure, gated access.
It offers a basketball court, a soon-to-be-completed pickleball court, and an on-site clubhouse with a common area for lounging, a kitchenette, restrooms with shower facilities, an office space, and a conference room.
