July 30, 1974 – SAGLE MOOSE CLAIM CROWN
The Sagle Moose took first place in Little League playoffs, defeating the Clark Fork Outlaws Friday. Team members are Michael Kibler, David Gleason, Jim Hawkins, Todd Converse, Clayton Schell, Harvey Martin, Eric Balch, Ron Bradley, Mark Halliday, Mike Raineri and Scott Crabb. Ralph Crabb is the coach, assisted by Ralph Hawkins.

FEMALE DRIVERS LICENSE EXAMINERS
The first two women in the state of Idaho to qualify as driver license examiners are deputies Marilyn Moline and Nola Kohler of Bonner County.

J.H. JOSEPH PROMOTED TO SPLICER
J.H. Joseph, equipmentman with General Telephone Co., has been named cable splicer. Joseph joined GTNW in 1955 as a lineman at Coeur d’Alene, then transferred to the Sandpoint operation. A member of the Elks Club, Joseph and his wife, Louise, reside in Sandpoint. They have two children.

CARDINALS ARE PEE WEE LEAGUE CHAMPS
The Sandpoint Cardinals are the new Pee Wee League champs. Team members are Steven Watt, Sean McGovern, Sammy Paris, Mark Plaster, Martin Sorenson, Donald Kotschevar, Gary Neu, Casey Fournier, James Reuterdahl, Jon Pearlstein, Tim Hanson and Russell Stevens. Coach Sam Paris praised his team, saying, “We’ve had quite a season. The kids were all great and we all learned a lot.” His assistant was Bernie McGovern.

July 30, 1949 – LAUNDRY SERVICE SET UP
Through arrangements with New Method Laundry in Spokane, service to laundryless Sandpoint has been established, announced Stephan Sinchak and Frank Kyte, who plan to rebuild Lakeside Laundry, which burned July 19 with a total loss. L.J. Rothwell of New Method co. met here with them and set up a laundry pickup service for transfer to Spokane three days a week. Patrons may obtain pickup service by calling the old Lake Laundry telephone number.

GIRL SCOUTS CRUISING
Among the 12 Senior Scout girls enjoying a chartered cruise to Princess Louise Inlet and Jervis in Canada are the Misses Mary McKinnon, Ellamae Farmin, Molly McFarland and Charlotte Pennington.

ARMY SCHOOL GRADUATE
Richard J. Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Parker, graduated from medical technician school at Brook army medical center, Fort Sam Houston, Tex.

WOODFILLS SEE FAMOUS MONUMENT
Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Woodfill and daughters, Roberta and Loretta, took a two week trip to Yellowstone park and Mt. Rushmore in the Black Hills, finding the massive sculpture of the presidents very impressive. Returning through Glacier, they visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Woodfill at Sidney, Mt.
