Susan (Sue) Marie Ingraham, Jan. 13, 1949 — July 10, 2024, 75.

Born in Wasco, Calif., Sue moved to Alaska when her parents decided they wanted to homestead some land just outside of Fairbanks. They later moved to Fairbanks where she and her five siblings grew up. She graduated from Lathrop High School in 1967, later married and had six children.

Children: David L. McClure, Gladewater, Texas, Douglas McClure, Sandpoint, Idaho, Jim and Jeannette McClure, Fairbanks, Alaska, Shane A. McClure (deceased); Misti-jo D. McClure (deceased); and Preston and Lisa McClure, Lebanon, Tenn.

In June of 1988 she and her daughter, Misti-jo, left their beloved Alaska and moved to Sandpoint to be closer to Seattle Children's Hospital for Misti’s health care.

Sue lost two of her children to Cystic Fibrosis at a young age and she was an involved supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to acquire donations for research to find a cure for this deadly disease and was actively involved in the Children’s Miracle Network.

She always looked forward to hearing how her remaining children were and tried always to keep in touch with her growing family whom she loved very much.

Sue was a trained volunteer with the Bonner County Search and Rescue for nine years, plus she was a part of the Bonner County EMS.

Sue retired after several years of service from the Bonner County Juvenile detention center as a juvenile corrections officer.

She loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking and camping. As a bird rehabilitator she enjoyed watching, listening to, identifying and rescuing birds.

Sue was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and devoted her time to the local community with her profound love for the bible and by sharing the comforting hope it holds out for mankind with her neighbors.

Siblings: Pamela J. Brandvold, Lewistown, Mont., Leora L. Madrid (deceased), Margaret A. and Richard Keays, Spokane, Wash., James L. Ingraham, Fairbanks, Alaska, Mary F. Hewitt, Sandpoint.

She is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always thrilled to hear about her growing family and was always eager to share pictures of her newest addition.

She also had numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and enjoyed spending time with.

Susan's hope for the future can be found at John 5:28, 29: “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus] voice and come out”
