Free NAMI course announced
PONDERAY — Are you struggling to help a loved one living with a mental health condition? You're not alone.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Far North chapter is offering a free eight-week Family-to-Family course starting the week of June 9 at the Community Resource EnVision Center.
The class provides education on mental health conditions, coping strategies and support for family members of people living with mental illness. It is taught by trained NAMI facilitators who have experience with mental health issues.
"This class opened my eyes and helped me understand my loved one," a past participant said of the program. NAMI Far North does not share participants' names to protect their privacy.
