Kay Blayne, 77

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kay Blayne, who left us May 19, 2024, at the age of 77. 

Kay was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Born on Sept. 7, 1946, in one of the small cabins located behind the Hoot Owl in Sandpoint, Idaho, Kay was the fifth and last child of Roland and Dorothy Gleason.

In 1970, Kay married the love of her life, Dick Blayne. Their marriage was a true partnership, built on a foundation of friendship, mutual respect and love. Together, they raised three fabulous children, Pamela, Chris, and Michelle who were the pride and joy of Kay’s life. She was a devoted mother, always present for her children, guiding them with gentle strength, unwavering support and an adventurous spirit.

In her later years, Kay discovered profound joy in her role as a grandmother to her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Each moment spent with them was treasured, as she imparted her passion for home decor, painting, and gardening with boundless love. Her innate talent for decorating transformed every corner of her home into a haven of warmth and style.

Kay is survived by her loving husband, Dick; her children, Pam (Gene), Chris (Steph), Michelle (Cole); and her grandchildren, Kylie (Joey), Austin (Morgan), Chase (Dominique) and Michael (Ashley). She also leaves behind a large extended family including her siblings, Patricia (Richard), Pearl, Mickie and Larry, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Kay’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, generosity, and love. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel special and valued. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the countless hearts she warmed. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
