SANDPOINT — Bonner County is hosting an aquatic noxious weeds and invasive species informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bonner County Administration Building.

Admission is free and no pre-registration is required.

Among the items on the agenda is a discussion of aquatic threats to Lake Pend Oreille, a look at boat check stations in the region following the discovery of mussels in the Snake River last year, and an update on water rights.

In addition, there will be an update on efforts by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and state agencies to combat invasive aquatic species

The meeting will not address Albeni Falls Dam operations or resulting lake levels, Chase Youngdahl, Noxious Weeds manager, said. Those topics are off the agenda and questions about them will not be entertained.
