June 9, 1974 – DANCE RECITAL

The Weisz Dance Academy will present its first recital Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the High School gym. Dancers include, in tap, Yvonne Crape, Brenda Smith, Donna Davis, Jerry McDowell, Sherri Rudolf, Michelle Pecukonis, Sarah Marienau, Lulu Faux, Mary Marienau and Kelly Thompson. Ballet and modern jazz will be performed by Brynette Kramer, Mardi Coffelt, Janell Saasen, Molly Tillberg, Leslie Rosholt, Heidi Overholser, Katie Overholser, Diana Rolfson, Deia Dixon, Juli Ann Heki, Leslie Rogers and Jill Johnson. Kristi Weisz will do two numbers.

 KINDERGARTEN PLANS NATURE HIKE

The Creative Kindergarten class will complete its school year with a nature hike led by Forester Buzz Durham this week, said Mrs. James Scott, teacher. Members of the class are Kristy McHargue, Lisa Book, Cassie Bernsten, Anton Pogue, Carol Evans, Carol Rae Stromquist, Chris Rolfson, John Durham, Angela Mulligan, Dana Boling and Kim Bartelson.

Pupils in this year’s Jack and Jill Kindergarten class are Mary Ann McGovern, Micki Self, Joanna Pearlstein, Susie Deubel, Tony Haworth, Scott Lies, Eric Moe, Larisa Howell, Angie Bastian, Ted Holste, Jennifer Leon, Larry Cooper, Andrea Harbison, Mike McNarie, Debbie Stoicheff, Shelly LeMay, Keith Felts, Julie Robideaux, David Roberts, Terri Wall, Angela Austin, Joe Harper, Jack Campbell, Ross Reimer, Michelle Riffe and Paige Reilly. Teachers are Mrs. Nolan Redman and Mrs. R.W. Ammerman.

June 9, 1949 – TO OPEN LAW OFFICE

Hardy Lyons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lyons of Sandpoint, passed the bar examinations and was admitted to practice before the supreme court in session last week in Coeur d’Alene. Fellow student Watt Prather, Gooding, at the University of Idaho, was also admitted and the two young men will open a law office in Bonners Ferry this week. After his return from the Marine Corps, Lyons entered the U of I law school, completing his course this year.

NEWS FROM MORTON

A group of friends charivaried newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCabe, Tuesday. The evening was spent playing games. A delicious lunch was served.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Donahue of Woodfairie called at the Clark and Dawson ranch Thursday.

MRS. BESSIE BROWN HONORED

On Monday, Mrs. E.D. Farmin entertained with 1 o’clock luncheon and an afternoon of reminiscing in honor of Mrs. Bessie Brown of Portland. It was found that all present had lived in Sandpoint 49 years and Mrs. Brown’s husband [James Brown] was the first man to buy a lot from L.D. Farmin after he had plotted his homestead. Guests included the honored guest, Mrs. Charles Senft, Mrs. Hans Boeck, Mrs. Robert Coons, Mrs. Frank Norton and Mrs. Joe Sanders.
