BHT thanks donors, community for challenge success

The Bonner Homeless Transitions Board and staff are thanking all who donated to its Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge. 

Through the community's continued support, Bonner Homeless Transitions has been able to assist and reintroduce families back into the community with stable futures. Through the efforts of 124 donors and sponsors, BHT raised nearly $86,000, of which $7,750 in matching funds and prizes from the Idaho Housing and Finance Association.

Major donors included Mary Jo and Jack Ambrosiani, $10,000; Norwood Robb, $5,000; anonymous, $7,500; Ferguson Family Charitable Trust, $7,000; Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, $6,000; Les and Connie Scherr, $4,000; Sandpoint United Methodist Church, $3,430; Malcolm and Pamela Kinney, $2,000; Tom and Rose Anne Wheately, $1,500; Equinox Foundation, $1,000; Judith Gehman, $1,000; Mary and John McPherson, $1,000; Cliff and Carol Warren, $1,000; Lynda Roberts, $1,000; Paula Lee, $1,000; Catharine Huisman, $1,000; Robert Prindiville, $1,000; Jeff Pennick, $1,000; Toby McNeal, $1,000;  Dale Pitts, $1,000; Shari Rowland, $1,000; Iron Horse Riders, $828; Marian O'Reilly, $700; Ethan Murray Fund, $500; Dale and Nancy Coffelt, $500; Karl Ordelheide, $500; Robert Meyers, $500; and Diane and Randy Harrison, $500.

The board and staff thanked Jack and Mary Jo Ambrosiani and the Ambrosiani Pastore Foundation for their continued support over the past 17 years as well as Idaho Housing and Finance for sponsoring the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge.  

"While each year seems to present the community with various challenges across a broad front of unique needs for the homeless, the abused and special needs populations, we are always encouraged by the community at large," board members said in a statement.
