YOUTH SPORTS: Phillies crowned SLL ‘AAA’ Champions
The Peak Sand and Gravel Phillies defeated the Northern Timber Crafters Diamondbacks 15-9 to win the Sandpoint Little League 'AAA' championship at Little Pine Field on Friday. The Phillies scored five runs in the first inning, but the Diamondbacks battled back to within one run later in the contest. In the top of the fifth inning, Solomon Mort hit a grand slam for the Diamondbacks to make it a 10-9 game.
