'Party changers' deserve congratulations, not castigation
The searing letter from Ms. Fahrig (Daily Bee, June 9) put a smile on my face. Our own family of four voters changed our party affiliation after meeting and hearing a Democratic candidate, Paulette Jordan, and realizing that even though she was the sharpest candidate that we’d seen in a long while, a vote for a Democrat in North Idaho is a wasted vote.
So, we changed our affiliation to Republican to attempt to mitigate the damage being done to our community by people such as our current lame-duck state senator. I’ve known Jim Woodward for a while now and find him to be the exact sort of person that I’d like representing my community and my family. I also know Mark Sauter well and have seen the effort that he makes to go to various meetings to listen and learn about his community’s concerns.
In closing, I think that Ms. Fahrig’s “doxxing” of the 278 "party changers" will result in more congratulations than castigation. I know that I will thank the "changers" when I next cross their path.

P.S. — We noticed that in our most recent city council elections, not a single candidate made a point of their party affiliation. So you voted for who you thought was the best candidate. Bravo!
