Festival at Sandpoint auction raises over $18,000

| June 21, 2024 1:00 AM

Thanks to the community's generosity, the Festival at Sandpoint was able to raise over $18,000 through its online auction. Proceeds benefit the organization's year-round, no-cost youth music education programs.

Festival officials said 94 people bid on 19 offered packages in the 2024 online auction, which took place from May 15 to June 3. The packages included a VIP package containing six sponsor entry tickets and a blanket placement for each performance of the 2024 summer performance series.

Some new additions to the auction package lineup this year included a private sunset yacht cruise on Lake Pend Oreille with Great Northern Nautical, an Alaskan fish feast from Thunder’s Catch, a one-of-a-kind framed 2023 lineup poster signed by all 2023 Summer Series performers, and a private sailing experience with Dogsmile Adventures.

Participation in events such as the auction helps the Festival support its mission to provide affordable and accessible music education and experiences.

In addition to an eclectic mix of concerts, the Festival at Sandpoint offers a pre-K outreach program at area preschools, a free Youth Orchestra — its longest education program — that welcomes several dozen students, a free year-round instrument library, and an annual scholarship program.

The programs offer area youth the chance to explore their musical interests and develop their talent, Festival officials said on their website.

The Festival at Sandpoint is a non-profit organization that hosts an annual summer performance series in Sandpoint, featuring a variety of genres, from rock and country to folk, indie, and more. The Festival at Sandpoint’s 41st annual 2024 Summer Performance Series will take place July 25 through Aug. 4, at War Memorial Field, an intimate venue on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.

As a nonprofit, The Festival at Sandpoint strives to provide a rich music experience, presenting a wide range of performances in an intimate outdoor setting accessible to local and regional audiences, cultivate culture and ethnic diversity, foster a love of music through ongoing youth education programs, and stimulate economic growth for our community.
