Jesus is our source

Jesus is not just a significant figure in history, nor is He simply the central historical figure of our Christian faith. For those of us who believe in Him, Jesus is central to our lives and well-being because He is our Source.

1 Corinthians 8:6 (AMPC)

Yet for us, there is [only] one God, the Father, Who is the Source of all things and for Whom we [have life], and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through and by Whom are all things [that have been created] and through and by Whom we [ourselves exist].

Acts 17:28a (NIV)

For in Him we live and move and have our being …

We orient our lives around an intimate relationship with Jesus because He is the source of all life, and He is the source of all that we need in life.

When we need love, Jesus is our Source because He is the God of love (1 John 4:16). When we need mercy, Jesus is our Source because He is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4).

When we need forgiveness, Jesus is our Source because His blood redeems (Eph 1:7). When we need grace, Jesus is our Source because He is the God of all grace (1 Pet 5:10). When we need peace, Jesus is our Source because He is our peace (Ephesians 2:14).

When we need hope, Jesus is our Source because He is the God of hope (Rom 15:13). When we need joy, Jesus is our Source because He fills us with joy (Psalms 16:11).

When we need comfort, Jesus is our Source because He is the God of all comfort (2 Cor 1:3). When we need strength, Jesus is our Source because He gives strength (Phillippians 4:13).

When we need deliverance, Jesus is our Source because He is our deliverer (2 Sam 22:2). When we need healing, Jesus is our Source because by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Is there something you need today? Are you yearning for a source of something in your life? Then my encouragement is to look to Jesus because He is the source of all things. He will meet that need because He is your Source.
