ALL-STATE SOFTBALL: Skibitsky named to 4A Second Team

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint rising junior Cadence Skibitsky was recently named to the 4A All-Idaho Second Team for her efforts on the field this past season.

Skibitsky was one of two sophomores who received either first or second team honors. She batted .446 this season and had a .557 on-base percentage across 70 plate appearances. The Bulldogs’ primary center fielder, Skibitsky had 25 hits which included seven doubles and two home runs and drove in 13 RBIs. She also added 24 runs scored and 11 stolen bases to the stat sheet. In center, she put up a .891 fielding percentage and had 42 total putouts.

"Cadence was a consistent performer both at the plate and on the field," Sandpoint High head softball coach Leah Platt said. "She pushes others around her to be better and has elevated the play of her peers. She had few errors and was also a threat on the bases with consistent, aggressive baserunning. She is a player who makes things happen by being constantly alert and looks for opportunities to make things happen. She continues to be a student of the game and her game knowledge grows daily."
