OLDTOWN — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public input on the corps’ Albeni Falls Dam Project Master Plan, which will impact the next five years of recreation in the county.

USACE staff hosted master plan meetings June 24 in Priest River and June 25 in Ponderay for the public to learn what a master plan is, why it’s important and provided the opportunity for them to provide feedback.

The public will have the opportunity to provide comments on management of natural and recreational resources that should be included in the master plan until July 31.

“The master plan does not address fish passage, lake level management, dam operations or the current spillway gate restrictions,” said USACE public affairs specialist Nicole Celestine. “Its focus is to guide future development and maintenance of recreation and wildlife management areas on USACE lands.”

Comments can be submitted via email to albenifalls.masterplan@usace.army.mil.
