LPOSD enrollment opens today
SANDPOINT — Enrollment for first through 12th graders in Lake Pend Oreille School District opens today, March 1, for the upcoming school year.
LPOSD’s enrollment page, found under the “Parent, Student, & Patron Resources” section of their website, gives step-by-step instructions for all current, returning, and new students for the 2024-25 school year.
A 2023 open-enrollment law will allow for potential increased enrollment from other districts, LPOSD officials said. Considering this, the district has created a pre-enrollment process to give in-district families a chance to “save their spot.”
All families will need to provide proof of residency, which can be a utility bill, internet bill, mortgage statement, or rental agreement, LPOSD officials said. Cell phone bills and driver’s licenses do not qualify as proof of residency.
To determine the schools within specific zones, addresses can be entered into a school
If you’re unsure which school you’re zoned for, you can enter your home address on the School Site Locator website which will list the schools in a resident’s zone.
New and current families who would like to be considered for enrollment in a school other than their zoned school, in or out of the district, must fill out an open enrollment application.
If parents do not have access to the internet, officials suggest calling the child’s school to make arrangements with the administrative assistant to begin the pre-registration process.
Kindergarten enrollment will be conducted somewhat differently and addressed soon.
