Marshall announces reelection campaign
Bonner County Prosecutor Louis Marshall has announced that he is running for reelection.
Marshall has previously served four terms, having first been elected in 2008. Prior to that, he served as a deputy prosecutor for six years. Marshall was recently elected as president of the Idaho Prosecuting Attorneys Association, having previously served as president in 2012. He is one of only a handful of prosecutors in the history of Idaho who has served multiple times as president of the association, Marshall said.
Marshall is also the longest-serving commissioner of the Idaho Traffic Safety Commission. He has also served on the Idaho Pro Bono Commission and Idaho Criminal Rules Committee.
Marshall has focused his efforts on prosecuting crimes against children. He started the LillyBrooke Family Justice Center and wrote the law — voted for by all but one member of the Idaho Legislature — allowing certified dogs to be allowed in the courtroom to assist child victims. Marshall prosecuted the first case in Bonner County history where a child rapist received a life without parole sentence. He has sent many more offenders to prison for life sentences for murders and crimes against children.
Marshall has personally tried dozens of high-profile cases over the years with a high conviction rate.
