ATHOL — Late last month, the U.S. Marshals Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force located 50-year-old Todd Andrew Miller dead in a residence off Kelso Lake Road in Athol following the issuance of arrest warrants from two North Idaho counties.

Miller — a former Bonners Ferry resident — had extensive ties in both Kootenai and Bonner counties.

“The fugitive investigation was a collaborative effort amongst many law enforcement agencies throughout North Idaho,” said Department of Justice supervisory deputy Michael Leigh.

On Feb. 2, the Boundary County District Court had issued a felony arrest warrant for Miller, charging him with forcible penetration, sexual abuse of a child and indecent exposure. The Kootenai County District Court also issued a felony arrest warrant Feb. 14 for Miller, charging him with failure to appear, stemming from a drug charge.

The task force requested the assistance of the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office after failed attempts to get Miller to exit the residence throughout the morning. On the afternoon of Feb. 20, law enforcement officers discovered Miller deceased inside the residence.

The Idaho State Police is currently conducting a death investigation.
