Crooked Kilt to perform Saturday

| March 20, 2024 1:00 AM

Celtic music will liven up Newport's Create Art Center on Saturday as Crooked Kilt is set to perform.

The group will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. at the center, 900 W. Fourth St., Newport.

Crooked Kilt's harmonies are enriched through the multiple instruments, including fiddle, accordion, and bodhran to the djembe, guitar, piano and Highland pipes.

Advance tickets are $12 at Create or online atcreatearts.org. Tickets at the door are $15. Students can attend at no charge.

The band delivers a rich blend of tightly woven harmonies, interspersed with the sound of harps, bagpipes, and more, Crooked Kilt members said on the band's website. The result is a sound that blends both traditional and eclectic Celtic music delivered by a family band that has performed in the Spokane area in various iterations for over 20 years.

While the band performs mainly Celtic music, Crooked Kilt members note their unique sound include a touch of just about every kind of genre.
