Robert Klinger, 81
Robert David “Bob” Klinger, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Private family services have been held.
Bob was born July 17, 1942, in Shenandoah, Pa., to Luther and Ernestine Klinger. Bob graduated from Ephrata High School in 1960 and attended Millersville State College. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base.
Bob married Jan Yager on October 12, 1963, in Sandpoint. They lived in Ephrata, Pa., for five years while Bob worked for RCA. In 1969, when they returned to Sandpoint, Bob opened Klinger TV Repair. He sold the business and retired in 1992.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, served on the school board, Bulldog Bench and was a member of Sandpoint Elks Lodge No. 1376. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and attending high school sports.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Klinger of Sandpoint; two sons Mark Klinger of Seattle and Tim (Marcy) Klinger of Sandpoint; a daughter Marla (Shawn) Zener of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; three grandchildren Nicholas Zener, Camron and Madison Klinger; one great-granddaughter Ara Klinger; and a brother Don (Phyllis) Klinger of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter Mikaela Zener.
